E18 | Monkeypox

As if we didn’t learn enough from COVID, here we are in the midst of another public health situation: Monkeypox– finding a niche in men who have sex with men. I make the rounds in this informative feet–on-the ground episode talking to a host of personalities: Northwestern University virologist and pox specialist Dr. Nathan Meade (E8 | The Vaccine ); @BubbleDotGum aka Andy Alvarez from Instagram who is a professional Chicago sex worker and gogo boy; and I reach out to my friend Amanda (E6 | Stages of Love) who is a mother with a young baby. “How is monkeypox impacting us all?”... the question of the moment. Finally, I speak with a nurse in the Howard Brown Health system and I capture my complete experience while receiving the monkeypox vaccine.

If you or someone you know needs information regarding monkeypox, its vaccine, or general guidance about the virus these links may be helpful. (All links current and working at the release of episode.)
